Better Life
Wash away winter with products that are good for mother earth, and you.
WHILE CLEARING AWAY THE DIRT AND SALT-STAINS of winter, it’s tempting to begin the season with a big purge, using toxic cleaners to scrub away lingering germs and bacteria. But typical household cleaners, even some marked as “green,” are often made with dangerous chemicals that can leave harmful residues.
It was a problem that Tim Barklage and Kevin Tibbs wanted to solve. The lifelong friends had both just become new parents, and were in search of a product to clean their home that was both powerful and free of harmful chemicals. Kevin, a formulation chemist, started work on developing products that would not contain ingredients such as synthetic fragrance, dyes, or sulfates.
Today, Better Life’s line of plant-based cleaners are non- hazardous and often out-perform leading name brand cleaners. Each product is made with ingredients like coconut, corn, and essential oils, and never include ammonia, bleach, or ethoxylates.
In addition to creating safer products, it was essential for the line to out-perform traditional cleaners. Better Life’s filth-fighting, all-purpose cleaner can be used on everything from upholstery to toilets, base boards, and walls. It can cut through grease and grime as well as leading competitors, but is biodegradable, safe for water-ways and marine life. The company offers a variety of other prod-ucts including dish and hand soap, laundry detergent, and a produce wash. Cleaning with Better Life means you can wash just about any-thing without worrying about what’s left behind.
